Hartlepool, Yorkshire - At 7.27 p.m.

on 2nd April, 1966, the coastguard told the motor mechanic that a yacht had capsized off the north pier. It was low water with a moderate easterly breeze and a corresponding sea. The life-boat The Princess Royal (Civil Service No. 7) set out at 7.37.
