A Dinghy (1)

Southend-on-Sea, Essex - At 11.54 a.m. on i8th April, 1966, while the IRB was being exercised with the district inspector on board, the crew were informed that a dinghy with four youths on board was in difficulties 100 yards off shore from Halfway House, Thorpe Bay. There was a fresh easterly breeze and moderate sea. It was high water.

The four youths were embarked and taken ashore. The dinghy was later recovered and towed ashore. The IRB returned to her station at 12.40 p.m..
