Sheringham, Norfolk. At 1.5 p.m.

on 2 ist December, 1965, the coxswain told the honorary secretary that a small fishing boat was in trouble with her engine broken down, a mile and a half north of Sheringham. The life-boat James and Catherine MacFarlane, on temporary duty at the station, was launched at 1.20 in a fresh west-northwesterly breeze and a slight swell. The tide was ebbing. The life-boat came up with the crab boat Welcome Messenger, being towed by another crab boat, the Windsor Rose. The life-boat took over the towing and reached her station at 2.10 p.m..
