The Sailing Club Rescue Boat Viking

Eyemouth, Berwickshire. At 11.15 p.m. on zoth January, 1966, the harbour master informed the honorary secretary that the Border Sailing Club rescue boat, with one man on board her, was adrift on the rocks at the west side of the bay, her engine having failed. The life-boat Swny- Mor (Civil Service No. 6) left at 11.45 in a strong south easterly breeze and a rough sea. It was one hour after low water.

The life-boat came up with the Viking and threw her a tow line and towed her back into Eyemouth, arriving ati2.iop.m..
