Fishing Boats

Arbroath, Angus. At 10.50 a.m. on 25th February, 1966, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that there were five fishing boats at sea and the life-boat The Duke of Montrose might be needed to escort the boats through the harbour entrance as it would be dangerous.

The life-boat was launched at 12.30 p.m. in a strong south easterly gale and a very rough sea. It was one and a half hours after low water. The life-boat safely escorted the five fishing boats into harbour and returned to her station at 2.20 p.m..
