Ben Glas

INJURED HAND At 6.30 a.m. on 2gth January, 1966, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that there was on board the trawler Ben Glas a crew member whose hand had been severed and was bleeding profusely.

The Ben Glas was then in a position 10 miles north east of Tuimpan Head. The life-boat The James and Margaret Boyd left at 7.10 for the rendezvous point in the lee of Tuimpan Head where the injured man was transferred and landed at Stornoway for medical treatment at 10.45..
