A Boat (1)

Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset. At 1.30 p.m. on i6th December, 1965, the second coxswain informed the honorary secretary that a small boat was drifting, out of control, down the channel on the ebb tide. The life-boat Calouste Gulbenkian was launched at 3.50 in a moderate breeze and in a slight swell. It was three hours to low water. The life-boat came upon the boat and found that there was no one aboard her and so she took the small boat in tow back to a mooring on the Old Pier and returned to the station at 5.10 p.m..
