The Danish Vessel Zita

Bembridge, Isle of Wight. At 6 a.m.

on 20th November, 1965, a request was received from the Danish vessel Zita for a tow as her engines had broken down. The life-boat Jesse Lumb was launched at 6.45 in a gentle north-easterly breeze and rough seas. It was two hours to high water. The life-boat met the Zita off Ventnor and towed her to Portsmouth.

The life-boat was back at her station at 5.30 p.m. The owner of the vessel made a gift to the life-boat crew..
