Osprey

Bridlington, Yorkshire. At 4 p.m.

on ist October, 1965, the m.f.v. Osprey was reported to have stopped near Withernsea with engine failure. There was a moderate south-south-easterly breeze with a rough sea. The tide was flooding. The life-boat Tillie Morrison, Sheffield 11 was launched at 4.29 and found the Osprey, which had hoisted a sail but was making little progress against the tide.

The Osprey was taken in tow and brought safely into harbour at 8.30, the life-boat arriving back at her station at 9 p.m..
