The Spanish Life-boat Society has presented a certificate—their Diploma de Voto de Gracias—to the coxswains and crews of the Sennen Cove and Penlee life-boats as a token of deep appreciation for their efforts to locate the crew of the Spanish ship Juan Ferrer, which was lost at Lamorna Cove in the early hours of the 23rd October, 1963. The Penlee life-boat found the captain clinging to some wreckage.
