Corinne
Dungeness, Kent. At 10.5 a.m. on 24th September, 1965, the yacht Corinne was reported aground at Camber. One of her crew of three had been seen to swim ashore. There was a moderate southsouth- westerly breeze with a choppy sea.
It was almost high water. The life-boat Mabel E. Holland launched at 10.14 anc* soon came up with the yacht. Owing to the state of the tide it was not possible to tow the Corinne off and as her crew were in no immediate danger the coxswain stood by until the tide had ebbed sufficiently for them to walk ashore. The lifeboat arrived back at her station at 1.15 p.m..
