A Yacht and a Speed Boat

Hartlepool, Co. Durham. At 4.30 p.m. on i2th September, 1965, the coastguard informed the coxswain that a yacht had capsized two miles north of Hartlepool.

There was a light north-easterly breeze with a calm sea. The life-boat Princess Royal (Civil Service No, 7) was launched at 4.40 on a flood tide and soon came up with the yacht, which had been righted and was proceeding in company with another yacht. Their crews drew the coxswain's attention to a speedboat whose engine had failed. The life-boat took the speedboat in tow to Hartlepool, arriving at 5.10 p.m..
