YACHT TOWED IN At 6.20 p.m. on nth July, 1965, a vessel reported a yacht aground on the south side of West Swin Barrow Deep and at 6.33 the life-boat Greater London II (Civil Service No. 30) was launched. A gale was blowing from the south west, the sea was rough and the tide was low. The life-boat found the yacht Zoe with a crew of two and stood by her in view of the worsening conditions. Half-an-hour later it was decided to take the yacht in tow and she was taken to Southend pier. The lifeboat returned to her station at n p.m..
