YACHT TOWED IN Eastbourne, Sussex. At 3.6 p.m. on 2 ist August, 1965, a yacht was seen burning flares south of the life-boat house. The life-boat Beryl Tollemache was launched at 3.20 in a south-westerly gale and a very rough sea. The tide was flooding. She found the schooner Garland of Cowes, with a crew of two, broken down seven and a half miles east by south of Beachy Head. The schooner was taken in tow to Newhaven and the life-boat reached her station at 9.30 p.m..
