Captain Gerald Rodger Cousins, D.S.C., R.N. (Ret.)

Captain Gerald Rodger Cousins, D.S.C., R.N. (Ret.), died on 3Oth May, 1965, aged 71. He entered the Navy in 1911 and served in destroyers in the First World War, at Gallipoli and later with the Grand Fleet. In March 1931 he was appointed Inspector of Life-boats for the RNLI's Western District. During the Second World War his work for the RNLI was interrupted by a return to Naval duties.

After the war he took up a post as Southern District Inspector, which he held until his retirement in 1954..
