Boy Eric
EIGHT ABOARD At 7.54 a.m. on 28th July, 1965, a small schooner was seen apparently drifting seawards from Hopes Nose with no sign of life on board. Observation was kept on the boat for another ten minutes and as she continued to drift the life-boat Princess Alexandra of Kent proceeded at 8.30. There was a strong west-southwesterly breeze and a moderate sea. The tide was flooding. The life-boat came up with the motor vessel Boy Eric of Lowestoft with eight people on board. Her engines had broken down and she was dragging her anchor. The Boy Eric was taken in tow to Brixham Harbour, arriving at io.ro a.m..
