Ramsgate, Kent. At 9.38 p.m. on iyth April, 1965, the east pier watchman informed the honorary secretary that red flares had been seen off the Quern buoy.

The life-boat Michael and Lily Davis proceeded at 9.45 in a strong westerly wind and a rough sea. The tide was flooding.

The life-boat found the motor fishing vessel Trustful with her engine broken down. She had a crew of two. The Trustful was taken in tow and the lifeboat reached her station at 10.15 P-m-.
