Bar mouth, Merionethshire. At 4.30 p.m. on I4th April, 1965, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a yacht had grounded on the South Bank.

At 4.45 the life-boat The Chieftain was launched in a moderate south-westerly breeze and a moderate sea. It was three hours after low water. The yacht Marcel of Barmouth with a crew of three was found and she was taken in tow. The Marcel was leaking and had engine trouble. She was beached in the harbour and the Life-boat reached her station at 6.50 p.m..
