Cygnet

Poole, Dorset. At 5.45 p.m. on i7th April, 1965, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a message had been received that a yacht was aground on the Hook Sands. The life-boat Basset Green went out at 6.5 in a strong westnorth- westerly wind and a rough sea. The tide was ebbing. The life-boat met another boat towing the yacht Cygnet and took over the towage reaching her station at 7.30 p.m..
