TRAWLER AGROUND At 8.35 a.m. on 8th June, 1965, the honorary secretary was told by the coastguard that the trawler Craigievar of Aberdeen was aground at Red Head, Eday. At 8.55 the life-boat The John Gellatly Hyndman slipped her moorings in a gentle south-easterly breeze and smooth sea. The tide was ebbing. The life-boat came up with the Craigievar one hour later and found that her crew of six had been taken off by the motor fishing vessel Press On. The life-boat stood by and at 10.45 the Craigievar refloated and four of her crew returned on board. As no further help was required the life-boat returned to her station at 12.10 p.m..
