A Sailing Dinghy (4)

Largs, Ayrshire. At 11.30 a.m. on 23rd May, 1965, the crew of the inshore rescue boat which was on exercise saw a sailing dinghy with two people on board capsize one and a half miles south of the station. The IRB made for the capsized dinghy in a fresh easterly breeze and choppy sea. The tide was flooding. One of the crew was taken on board whilst the other assisted hi righting the dinghy, which was then towed to Largs. The IRB returned to her station at 12.1.
