RUBBER DINGHY Eastbourne, Sussex. At 4.50 p.m.
on 7th May, 1965, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a rubber dinghy was in difficulties about a mile south of the life-boat station. The life-boat Beryl Tollemache was launched at 4.58 in a fresh south-westerly breeze.
There was a moderate sea and the tide was ebbing. The life-boat rescued the two people on board the dinghy and towed it to Eastbourne, arriving at 5.15 p.m..
