Luna y Sol

INJURED MAN Baltimore, Co. Cork. At 3.45 p.m. on 18th March, 1965, the Bantry harbour master informed the honorary secretary that there was a seriously injured man on board the Spanish trawler Luna y Sol twenty miles south of Baltimore. The life-boat Sarah Tilson with a doctor on board, was launched at four o'clock in a moderate westerly breeze and a rough sea.

The tide was flooding. When the life-boat came alongside the trawler the doctor was placed on board and rendered medical aid. The man was then transferred to the life-boat which proceeded to Baltimore, where he was taken to hospital. The lifeboat then returned to her station arriving at nine o'clock..
