Coxswain Swarts
While working on the Barry Dock life-boat on I3th January, 1965, Coxswain F. Swarts fell to the concrete floor of the life-boathouse and was severely injured. He died on 22nd January without regaining consciousness.
Coxswain Swarts had been coxswain of the Barry Dock life-boat for nine years, and previously spent over nine years as second coxswain. During the period he was a boat's officer the life-boat rescued 20 lives..
