Atlantis

ENGINE FAILURE Selsey, Sussex. At 1.15 p.m. on nth January, 1965, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that the German motor vessel Atlantis then two miles south-west of Littlehampton had broken down with engine trouble and required assistance. The life-boat Canadian Pacific was launched at i .29 in a moderate southwesterly breeze and moderate sea with a flooding tide and came up with the Atlantis at 2.30. The broken engine part was put on board the life-boat and taken to Littlehampton for repair. At 4.45 the repair was completed and the life-boat returned to the motor vessel and stood by her until the Atlantis was under way.

She then returned to her station arriving at 7.2 p.m. and was re-housed at noon on the I2th January, 1965..
