A Fishing Vessel
ALL FUEL LOST At 4.25 p.m. on 29th March, 1965, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a small fishing vessel six miles south-east of Berwick Pier was flying an oilskin from her mizzen. The life-boat William and Mary Durham was launched at 4.45 in a gentle westerly breeze, and a smooth sea. It was three hours before low water. The life-boat reached the fishing vessel and it was found that the supply pipe from the fuel tank had fractured, and all the fuel had been lost. The fishing boat was towed to Berwick and the life-boat returned to her station at 6.30 p.m..
