The Russian Cargo Vessel Jushnij Bug

RUSSIAN VESSEL At 9.50 a.m. on I4th October, 1964, a shipping agency in Hull telephoned the coxswain superintendent saying that a woman aboard the Russian cargo vessel Jushnij Bug was severely ill and needed medical attention. At 10.30 the life-boat City of Bradford III was launched with a doctor on board. There was a slight sea and gentle south-westerly breeze. It was two hours before low water. When the life-boat came alongside the Russian vessel the doctor boarded her to attend to the woman. Twenty minutes later he returned to the life-boat with the woman.

She was transferred to an ambulance and later to hospital. The life-boat returned to her station at 12.15 p.m..
