TOOK SICK CHILD Galway Bay. At 3.15 p.m. on 24th October, 1964, the nurse at Kilronan told the honorary secretary that a sick child was in need of medical treatment at a mainland hospital. The sea was slight with a gentle north-westerly wind. At 4 p.m. the life-boat Mabel Marion Thompson left her station for Rossaveel with the sick child on board accompanied by her mother. At Rossaveel the mother and child were taken by ambulance to hospital and the life-boat returned to her station at 7.30..
