IN SWEDISH VESSEL Wick, Caithness-shire. At 2 a.m. on 9th November, 1964, the coxswain received a radio message from the Swedish motor vessel Garm that a member of her crew had acute appendicitis. There was a gentle south-westerly breeze with a choppy sea and it was three hours after high water. The Ufe-boat City of Edinburgh was launched at 3.45 and the patient was transferred to her. The life-boat returned to her station at 5 a.m..
