Fishing Cobles (1)

IN SOUTHERLY GALE At 12.45 P-ni. on yth December, 1964, the coxswain decided to launch the lifeboat Friendly Forester as several local fishing cobles were at sea in deteriorating weather. The life-boat put out in a southerly gale and a rough sea to a position east-south-east of Flamborough Head where the cobles were known to be working. One coble was making for the north landing when the coxswain contacted her skipper and was given the position of the remaining three. These cobles were eventually escorted safely in.

The life-boat reached her station at 3.15..
