NOBODY ON BOARD Walton and Frinton, Essex. At 7.45 a.m. on 6th December, 1964, the coastguard told the honorary secretary that the Cork lightvessel had reported a yacht drifting about a quarter of a mile southwest of the lightvessel, apparently without anyone on board. The life-boat Edian Courtauld left at 8.18 in a gentle west-southwesterly breeze and a slight sea. It was two hours after low water .The life-boat reached the yacht at about 9.5 and confirmed that nobody was on board. The coxswain took the yacht in tow to the Walton river, where she was moored.
