ADVENTURE AT SEA Dungeness, Kent. At 2.50 p.m. on 8th August, 1964, the coastguard told the coxswain that a fishing boat had broken down and was lying at anchor half a mile off Littlestone. Her crew were waving for help while they baled her out. There was a gentle to moderate south-west by westerly breeze, and the tide was two hours past high water. At 3.2 the life-boat Mabel E. Holland was launched, reaching the fishing boat Sea Adventure half an hour later. Her crew of two asked to be towed to Dymchurch as the boat was leaking badly and her engine had broken down. The lifeboat returned to her station at 4.55..
