FATHER AND SON At 5.25 p.m. on 5th September, 1964, the coastguard told the coxswain that a boy was reported to be stranded on Renney rocks but that further investigation was necessary. At 5.36 the message was confirmed. It was one hour before high water, with a smooth sea and light airs from the north-west. At 5.49 the lifeboat Lloyd's, on temporary duty at the station, put out with the boarding boat in tow. When she drew near to the rocks the boarding boat picked up a man and his son, who were on the rocks. They were put ashore at Bovisand, and the life-boat returned to her station at 7.15..
