CHILD WAS SICK At 3.45 p.m. on 6th September, 1964, the local doctor received a request from Inishmaan Island to attend to a sick child. There was a slight sea with a gentle north-westerly breeze. It was high water. At 4.30 the life-boat Mabel Marion Thompson put out for Inishmaan with the doctor on board, returning to her station at 7 p.m..
