FOR HOSPITAL TREATMENT At 2.30 p.m. on 22nd July, 1964, the local doctor informed the honorary secretary that he had two patients who required medical attention at a mainland hospital. As no other boat was available at the time he requested the use of the life-boat. It was one hour before high water with a smooth sea and light westerly breeze. At 3 p.m. the life-boat Mabel Marion Thompson left her station with the patients and the local doctor on board.

She transferred the patients to Rossaveel and returned to her station at 5 p.m..
