Meda II

PINNED TO PIER At 12.12 p.m. on i6th September, 1964, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that the yacht Meda II was on a lee shore in a moderate sea and gale force south-easterly wind. The yacht was pinned to the north pier and was being scraped against the pilings helplessly.

At 12.16, at low water, the life-boat Louise Stephens was launched. A few minutes later she reached the yacht, passed a line to her and towed her to safety. The life-boat returned to her station at 1.15..
