A Converted Ship's Life-Boat (1)

PERILOUS PROXIMITY Moelfre, Anglesey. At 8.45 p.m. on 7th July, 1964, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a converted ship's life-boat was reported to be drifting helplessly towards Dulas rocks in heavy seas before a strong south-westerly gale.

The tide was full. At 8.55 the life-boat Watkin Williams was launched and with the assistance of passing ships she found the converted ship's life-boat dangerously close to Dulas rocks, but with no one aboard. She was towed to Moelfre bay, where she was moored. The life-boat returned to her station at 10 p.m..
