SEEN FROM LIGHTHOUSE At 2.57 a.m. on iyth August, 1964, the coastguard told the honorary secretary that the Altacarry lighthouse keeper had seen a flare half a mile north-north-west of the lighthouse. The wind was increasing from moderate to fresh from the southeast while the tide was just before high water. At 3.10 the life-boat Lady Scott (Civil Service No. 4) was launched to search the area. A small boat with a crew of two was found at 5.12 and towed back to Portrush. The life-boat returned to her station at 9 a.m..
