TAKEN TO ROSSAVEEL At 3 p.m. on 22nd June, 1964, the local doctor asked the honorary secretary if the life-boat would take a patient to hospital on the mainland. The life-boat Mabel Marion Thompson left her moorings at 4.30 with the patient on board, in a light north-westetly breeze and smooth sea.

It was high water. The patient was put ashore at Rossaveel pier and the life-boat returned to her station at 7.30..
