TOOK OVER TOW Salcombe, Devon. At 11.20 a.m. on 4th April, 1964, the coastguard told the honorary secretary that a yacht was in tow of a steam ship two miles south of Bolt Head and the life-boat was asked to take over the tow. There was a moderate north-easterly breeze with a choppy sea, and an ebbing tide. The life-boat The Baltic Exchange launched at 11.30 and took over the tow. The yacht Helen was brought safely into harbour and the lifeboat returned to her station at i p.m..
