Fishing Cobles

COBLES ESCORTED Filey, Yorkshire. At 8 a.m. on 8th May, 1964, the life-boat second coxswain reported that six local fishing cobles were at sea in deteriorating weather. At 8.55 the life-boat The Isa & Penryn Mihted was launched with the second coxswain in charge. A gale was blowing from the south-west, the sea was rough and it was one hour after low water. The cobles, widely dispersed in Filey Bay, were gathered together by the life-boat and escorted back to Filey by 11.30..
