DINGHY CAPSIZED Ramsgate, Kent. At 7.10 p.m. on 23rd April, 1964, the east pier watchman informed the coxswain that a dinghy had capsized off the Quern buoy and was drifting towards the Brake buoy with two people on board. At 7.20 the life-boat Michael and Lily Davis set out in a moderate to fresh west-south-westerly wind and a moderate sea. The tide was flooding. Before the life-boat reached the casualty a helicopter from Mansion picked up both occupants of the dinghy Baleful. The life-boat took the dinghy in tow and reached her station at 8.18..
