LIBERIAN VESSEL Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. At 2.30 a.m. on 23rd February, 1964, the coastguard told the honorary secretary that a vessel was aground opposite Brook coastguard lookout. There was a near gale from the south-east with a rough sea, and the tide was flooding. The life-boat The Earl and Countess Howe left at 2.58 and reached the Liberian motor-vessel Brother George at 4.45. After checking that the crew were remaining on board, the life-boat stood by the vessel until three tugs arrived. She returned to her station at midday..
