Stove Pet

NORWEGIAN APPEAL Newhaven, Sussex. At 9.15 a.m. on 9th October, 1963, the honorary secretary was told that the Norwegian tanker Stove Pet required assistance to land an injured man. There was a light northerly breeze with a smooth sea. It was low water. The life-boat Kathleen Mary was launched at 9.45 and the man, who was suffering from an eye injury, was taken off the tanker and brought into Newhaven harbour at 10.15 a.m. He was transferred to a waiting ambulance and the life-boat was taken to moorings until she was able to be rehoused at 12.30.
