Premier
ENGINES HAD STOPPED As the fishing coble Premier was known to be at sea and the weather conditions were rapidly deteriorating the life-boat crew assembled at 7.30 a.m. on loth November, 1963. At 9.10 the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that the fishing coble's engines had broken down and the motor vessel Yewarch, of Glasgow, was standing by her. There was a near gale from the east-south-east with a rough sea. The tide was flooding. The life-boat J. G. Graves of Sheffield launched at 9.15, came up with the coble Premier and a tow rope was made fast. The coble was towed into harbour arriving at 12.15 P-m- As there were still three fishing boats at sea the life-boat was left afloat until they returned at three o'clock. The life-boat was rehoused at four o'clock..
