SEVEN WALKERS MISSING At 9.40 p.m. on spth October, 1963, the coastguard told the honorary secretary that a party of seven people, walking from Cayton to Filey, were missing. The coastguard asked if the life-boat could help with the search of the foreshore and the back of the Brigg. At 10.15 tne life-boat The Isa & Penryn Mihted was launched in light southerly airs and slight sea. The tide was flooding. The coxswain, using the searchlight and parachute flares, located the party and reported their position to a cliff rescue party. When the seven people were safely taken up the cliff the life-boat returned to her station at three o'clock the following morning..
