MR. HAROLD COWIE, s.s.c., a former member of the Committee of Management, died on the loth December, 1963.

Mr. Cowie served on the Committee of Management from 1949 until his resignation a few months before he died. He was appointed vice-chairman of the Scottish Executive Committee formed in 1945 and was elected chair- man in 1958.

He was a partner in the firm of Messrs. Fyfe, Ireland, the Institu- tion's solicitors in Scotland.
