A Small Boat

ONE MAN RESCUED At 2.29 p.m. on igth October, 1963, the coastguard told the honorary secretary that the pier lighthouse keeper had seen a small boat in difficulties near the harbour mouth. There was a moderate southby- east breeze and a choppy sea. The tide was ebbing. The life-boat Louise Stephens was launched at 2.42 and came up with the boat which had one man on board, in broken water near the pier. The man was rescued and the boat towed into harbour at 3.10..
