A Rowing Boat (1)
TWO SAVED FROM ROWING BOAT Peel, Isle of Man. At 4.46 p.m. on Sunday the 21st of July, 1963, the Peel coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a rowing boat with two people on board was seen to be in difficulties two and a half miles eastnorth- east of Peel breakwater. The lifeboat Helena Harris - Manchester and District XXXI was launched at 3.1 in a moderate southerly wind and smooth sea. It was four and a quarter hours after high water. The life-boat found the rowing boat and took the two people, who were exhausted, on board. She then took the rowing boat in tow to Peel.
The life-boat returned to her station at 5.50. A letter of thanks was received from the rescued people..
