Two Fishing Vessels
TWO FISHING VESSELS ESCORTED TO HARBOUR Whitby, Yorkshire. At eleven o'clock on the morning of the 6th April, 1963, it was decided, in view of the very heavy swell on the harbour bar, to launch the life-boat to escort two fishing vessels, which were still at sea, into harbour.
There was a strong north-easterly breeze with a very rough sea. The life-boat Mary Ann Hepworth was launched at 11.3 on a flooding tide. The vessels were found at 12.25 and escorted safely into harbour.
The life-boat then returned to her station, arriving at 1.5..
